Chinese herbal medicines have been used for millennia throughout the world to effectively treat many health problems encountered in general medical practice.
Herbal medicine works by correcting imbalances and disharmonies within your body while also looking at the body as a holistic structure. This view accounts for the idea that each system is connected to the others within the body. In addition, there is also a connection with the external environment.
Because of these connections, herbal medicine recognizes that even though two individuals may have the same symptoms, the underlying imbalances may be very different. Based on these differences, customized herbal formulas can tailor the unique variables within an individual’s physiology.
When creating a customized herbal formula for her patients, Dr. Von carefully identifies patterns in the patient’s symptoms as they often impact the performance of many of the systems within the body.
Dr. Julie Von is a NYC-based master herbalist who became one of the youngest people in the US to study Chinese medicine and continued her education in China obtaining an esteemed doctoral degree. She uses her experience in the holistic health field to create a complete assessment of your body and custom designs herbal formulas that will balance your body from the inside out.

-
The more acute the situation is the faster herbs tend to work. The more chronic the issue the longer it takes to see significant changes, however, the reduction of symptoms can be visible as early as within one month.

As Chinese herbs are natural, they need to be taken at regular intervals, often twice a day for several weeks at a time.
Chinese herbs are prescribed in three possible ways; as powders, or in tablet and capsule form. If you are taking the powders, then I recommend taking them twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. If for some reason, you can't take the Chinese herbs in the morning, you can take them at lunchtime.

It is important to understand that some herbs may interact with medications or cause side effects. That is why we always ask about your current medication to ensure your safety and effectiveness.
